Description
As part of its role as a hub for urban scholarship on the University of Chicago campus, the Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation engages students with the challenges and opportunities presented by the city of Chicago and by cities around the world.
One example: Our Kreisman Housing Fellowship brings together a cohort of University of Chicago graduate students from across fields of study who are committed to pursuing careers in housing research or practice. During the academic year, fellows take part in a range of professional development activities, including intimate field experiences, professional development sessions, and an independent internship or research project in the housing field, supported by a stipend.
Donations are applied to...
Your gift will create more opportunities for students in our signature programs: the Institute Postdoc Fellowship, the Kreisman Housing Fellowship, Environmental Frontiers Campus, Urban Doctoral Fellows, and the Urban Research Corps, which is gearing up for a series of projects to deliver technical solutions to academic and civic partners focused on urban policy and research questions.
Why are donations necessary?
Student demand for educational opportunities and programming that helps cities address their most pressing issues dramatically outpaces our ability to provide them. Your support will allow the Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation to provide University of Chicago students with academic and applied experiences working on issues like housing, climate change, violence prevention, and more. Your support will enrich students’ time at UChicago, connect them with others on campus who have similar interests, and give them the kind of hands-on experience that enables them to go on to do great things in the world.
