Description

The Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice brings together key academic programs and research initiatives dedicated to addressing issues of inequality and solving social challenges. This is a critical moment as cities across the country face significant challenges adopting new priorities, developing new strategies, and making new investments that promote a deeper understanding of the causes and human costs of inequality and injustice.

The school's faculty and students support major civic partnerships, inform policy makers, and provide insights into critical social problems. We are lending our expertise to help the City of Chicago implement and evaluate a guaranteed income pilot program aimed at reducing poverty and inequality. In another academic-community partnership, the school is collaborating with the city's Department of Housing to examine how city governments around the world can leverage housing policies to accelerate income accumulation and narrow the wealth gap in marginalized communities.

How will donations be applied...

Your gift will allow the Crown Family School to set new standards in social policy, train innovative student leaders, and build our capacity to transform lives in the city, across the country, and around the world. Funds directly support student scholarship, faculty research, civic partnerships, and more.

Personal Message

Meaningful and lasting solutions require an innovative and integrated approach, one that focuses on addressing specific issues but also recognizes that problems such as educational inequality, crime and violence, economic instability, and health disparities are interrelated and require the expertise and experience of leaders working together across areas.

Why are donations necessary?

As we face difficult and urgent challenges, Crown Family School faculty and students are supporting major civic partnerships, informing policy makers, and providing insights into critical social problems.
